Recovery after Windows 7

Learning completely new things while sorting out a problem in linux is one of its more awesome features (the user-unfriendliness is also a major turn-on). After a botched attempt at installing Win7, my GRUB2 was naturally overwritten. The main ubuntu forum article gave some errors while updating the new Grub from the live CD. So I went hunting the intertubes.

Here’s the result: to-the-point instructions on how to re-install GRUB 2 and mount the original Ubuntu installed. Incidentally this sparked me off into fiddling with chroot.:)
